Criticism from netizens is pouring in towards the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute' (Gaseyeon). This is due to their indiscriminate disclosure of a recorded phone conversation containing private matters of actor Lee Seon-gyun (48).
On the 27th, Gaseyeon announced Lee's death through their YouTube channel community, stating, "This is truly a tragic matter. We sincerely pray for the deceased's soul." They continued, "However, there are clear points that must be addressed, so we speak frankly," adding, "If one commits a crime, they must pay the price. Avoiding responsibility in this way is highly undesirable."
Previously, Gaseyeon faced criticism for privacy invasion after releasing a recording related to Lee the day before. They disclosed a recording with person A, who claimed that Lee used drugs, titling the video with phrases like '[Shocking Video]'. Netizens who viewed the video left comments such as "Demons who treat others' private lives as a means," "Was it really necessary to expose private recordings?" "A group exploiting people's curiosity for profit," and "Those who profit from others' private lives will be punished by heaven," expressing strong criticism.
Meanwhile, Lee was found dead inside a car parked in a park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, that morning. Lee's agency, Hodoo & UN Entertainment, said, "We are overwhelmed with grief and sorrow," and requested, "Please refrain from spreading false information based on speculation or rumors so that the deceased's final journey is not marred by injustice." The funeral hall was set up at Seoul National University Hospital. The funeral will be held on the morning of the 29th, and the burial site is the ancestral grave in Buan-gun, Jeonbuk.
