Kiturami Awards 2.8 Billion KRW in Scholarships to 2,300 Students This Year

50,000 Talents Supported Over 38 Years

Kiturami Group (Chairman Choi Jin-min) announced on the 27th that it has awarded academic encouragement scholarships to over 2,300 students this year through the '2023 Kiturami Scholarship Program.' Starting in January in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, the Kiturami Scholarship Program toured 42 local governments over the course of a year and concluded this year's schedule with a ceremony in Jecheon-si, Chungbuk in December. A total of 2.8 billion KRW in scholarships was provided to scholarship recipients recommended by each local government, including children from low-income families and young heads of households.

The Kiturami Scholarship Program has been ongoing since 1985 through the Kiturami Cultural Foundation, established by the founder Chairman Choi Jin-min with his personal funds. Over 38 years, it has supported 50,000 people with 34 billion KRW. Especially this year, with the lifting of social distancing measures due to COVID-19, Chairman Choi Jin-min personally participated in major local government scholarship award ceremonies, meeting and encouraging the scholarship recipients.


A representative from Kiturami Group stated, "We will continue to provide generous support centered on the scholarship program so that the future leaders of Korea do not have to give up their dreams due to financial difficulties."
