On the 26th, the police announced that Dr. Yeom, a doctor in his 40s, is suspected of violating the Narcotics Control Act by prescribing narcotics such as propofol for non-treatment purposes to the perpetrator, Mr. Shin, at his clinic on August 2nd, the day of the accident.
The police believe that Dr. Yeom falsified Mr. Shin's medical records at the time and deleted the records after hearing about the accident.
In addition, Dr. Yeom is also suspected of sexually assaulting 10 women under anesthesia and illegally filming them from January last year to October this year.
During the investigation, the police seized Dr. Yeom's mobile phone and discovered evidence of illegal filming. He has been additionally charged with filming using a camera under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, quasi-rape, and quasi-forcible molestation.
It was also confirmed that Dr. Yeom performed medical activities at another hospital in Seoul in October while his medical license was suspended, leading to charges of unlicensed medical practice.
Dr. Yeom's pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant review) will be held on the morning of the 28th at the Seoul Central District Court.
Meanwhile, Mr. Shin is accused of driving under the influence of drugs prescribed by Dr. Yeom in August, hitting a passing woman, fleeing without providing aid, which resulted in her death. Mr. Shin was arrested and indicted in September.
