Yuanta Securities analyzed on the 27th that IMT is expected to benefit from semiconductor companies' expansion of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) production facilities.
Baek Gil-hyun, a researcher at Yuanta Securities, stated in a report on the same day, "In 2022, we began supplying CO2 cleaning equipment for the HBM Post Dicing process to global DRAM supplier Company M," and explained, "Company M's HBM CAPA expansion strategy for 2024-2025 forecasts an increase in demand for the company's CO2 Cleaning (dry cleaning equipment)."
Micron's HBM3E has received positive feedback from customers due to its 10% better performance and 30% lower power consumption compared to competitors, and it is understood that from the fourth quarter, sample quantities of HBM3E are being supplied to multiple customers. Additionally, mass production of HBM3E is planned to start early next year, with plans to expand its DRAM bit share to a level similar to the overall HBM market by 2025.
He added, "The possibility of diversifying customers for CO2 Cleaning equipment cannot be ruled out," and "It is understood that domestic Company H is positively considering the introduction of CO2 cleaning equipment in the HBM Burn-in process."
He also added, "Although there is volatility in the delivery schedule of laser cleaning equipment for secondary batteries, the trend toward cleaning automation and the increase in the number of necessary equipment per line will positively impact the company's future performance."
