The 13th Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo 2025 will be held at Pyeongtaek Agricultural Ecology Park.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that, following an on-site evaluation by a panel of experts of five candidate sites that applied to host the Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo, Pyeongtaek Agricultural Ecology Park was selected as the venue.
Pyeongtaek City received high marks from the judging panel for its well-prepared status as a garden city, including training its own citizen gardeners and creating 80 gardens with the participation of over 4,000 citizens.
Pyeongtaek Agricultural Ecology Park is an ecological park spanning 118,000㎡, used by about 1,000 visitors daily. It is conveniently located near Oseong Interchange (IC) and is well-equipped with infrastructure such as a visitor center, botanical garden, and parking lot within the site.
To promote garden culture in daily life, Gyeonggi Province first held the Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo in 2010 at Okgu Park in Siheung and has since rotated the event annually among cities and counties. This year, the expo was held at Saebit Park in Gwangmyeong City.
Next October, the 12th Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo will take place at Dasan Central Park in Namyangju, themed around garden walks titled "To Dasan," "To Community," and "Carbon Zero."
Seol Jong-jin, Director of the Garden Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We hope the Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo will become an opportunity to transform the climate change crisis through the creation of garden works aimed at RE100 and carbon neutrality, as well as expanding local community participation."
