Safety Inspections Conducted at Sunset and Sunrise Event Sites and Vessels
Jang Dae-woon, Chief of the Changwon Maritime Police Station in Gyeongnam, will conduct safety inspections of sunset and sunrise event sites and vessels until the end of the year.
According to Changwon Maritime Police on the 26th, Chief Jang, along with frontline maritime police officers, has been monitoring the readiness of patrol vessels, the Changwon Rescue Team, and police substations for dispatch since the 23rd to prepare for marine safety accidents.

Marine workers were also provided with marine weather information in advance to help them respond to rapidly changing winter sea conditions and high waves.
He visited Jinhae-ro Beach Park and Jinhae Marine Park in Jinhae-gu, Changwon City, where the year-end sunset and Gapjin Year (甲辰年) New Year sunrise events are held, as well as the 3.15 Marine Nuri Park in Masanhappo-gu, to complete safety inspections aimed at preventing crowd-related accidents.
He met with captains, shipowners, and other vessel operators and stakeholders to inform them of the high risk of vessel accidents such as capsizing, sinking, and fires that frequently occur in winter, urging them to pay close attention to safety management.
Chief Jang stated, “Regarding preparations for year-end and New Year’s events, sunset, and sunrise events taking place throughout the jurisdiction, we will implement proactive safety management to prevent marine accidents and ensure public safety,” adding, “Our maritime police will take responsibility so that everyone can safely visit the sea.”
