This Year at Seoul Design Festival, Captivating Visitors' Attention
"Christmas has come to Busan."
Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) College of Design announced on the 26th that it participated in the '2023 Seoul Design Festival' held at COEX from the 20th to the 23rd, showcasing a booth designed with the theme of Christmas.
It is the largest design-related event held in Korea. Now in its 22nd year, it serves as a festival for design professionals and a platform for communication with the general audience.
Dongseo University has demonstrated its capabilities by participating in the 'Busan Design Week' held at BEXCO in Busan last June and this 'Seoul Design Festival.'
Dean Ahn Byung-jin of Dongseo University College of Design, who has led themes at various design events, has showcased designs utilizing logistics boxes as installation tools, reflecting the regional characteristics of Busan.
Dean Ahn received high praise for designing the university curriculum by applying typographic design to the images of Christmas trees and Christmas cakes, allowing visitors to perceive them sensorially.
Additionally, through this exhibition, works showcasing students' capabilities were introduced, leading to collaboration inquiries from companies and professionals in the design industry.
The exhibition also presented student works extracted through collaboration with 'Millak The Market,' which plays a significant role in regional revitalization.
The university stated that the exhibition successfully attracted visitors' curiosity and interest, naturally promoting the unique local spots and achieving marketing effects.
This exhibition was planned as a project supported by Dongseo University's Regional University Revitalization Project Group to highlight the originality of education leveraging the strengths of regional universities.
