Naver 2023 Search Keyword Summary Released
The Glory, The Outlaws 3, LoL World Championship, and More
The most searched keywords on Naver's mobile application (app) in 2023 have been revealed.
On the 26th, Naver announced the '2023 Search Keyword Summary.' This is the result of analyzing search data from January to last month of this year.
In the broadcasting program category, 'The Glory' was selected as the most searched keyword. The Glory is a Netflix original series drama centered on school violence, which gained great popularity throughout the year. ▲Lovers ▲Ilta Scandal ▲Moving ▲I am SOLO followed behind.
The Glory and Ilta Scandal were the most searched keywords on mobile in January and February respectively, and SBS's 'I am SOLO,' which gained word-of-mouth popularity among netizens, was the only variety show to be included in the top 5 broadcasts.
In the movie category, following 'The Outlaws 3,' which surpassed 10 million viewers, ▲Oppenheimer ▲Suzume's Locking Up ▲Elemental ▲Smuggling were selected. The Outlaws series achieved back-to-back wins following last year's 'The Outlaws 2.'
Last month, the most searched keyword was the movie 'Spring in Seoul,' which deals with the December 12 incident.
In the sports category, the search volume for 'professional baseball' stood out. ▲The 19th Hangzhou Asian Games ▲Premier League ▲Tottenham ▲The 19th Hangzhou Asian Games football followed.
In the gaming category, keywords related to the 'World Championship' were the most numerous. The first place was LCK (League of Legends Champions Korea), followed by ▲MapleStory Inven ▲FIFA Online 4 ▲OP.GG (a record search platform for LoL and others) ▲2023 LoL World Championship.
Expanding the scope regardless of category, 'weather' and 'YouTube' ranked first and second for a long period. They were followed by online communities such as 'Femco,' 'lottery winning number inquiry,' and 'exchange rate.'
On the PC version, ▲YouTube ▲Coupang ▲Spell Checker ▲Weather ▲Exchange Rate ranked high among search keywords. 'Daum,' which was third in PC searches last year, dropped to seventh this year, and 'Google,' which was fourth, fell to sixth. Google was also fourth on mobile last year but dropped three places to seventh this year. 'Exchange rate' ranked fifth for two consecutive years on both PC and mobile.
Meanwhile, according to the web log analysis site Internet Trend, Naver's domestic internet search market share recorded 59.64% as of the 21st. Google was at 29.64%, while Daum and Microsoft (MS) Bing recorded 4.53% and 2.47%, respectively.
