Following the great response from the first council experience activity held last month, this second session was organized to provide children and youth with an opportunity to learn about democratic decision-making processes by becoming one-day county council members and directly experiencing the functions and roles of the local council.

On this day, 13 students from grades 4, 5, and 6 of Cheonggye Nam Elementary School participated, watching a council promotional video, touring the standing committee meeting room and council members' offices, and experiencing various council decision-making processes in the main assembly hall, including 3-minute free speeches, ordinance proposal explanations, pros and cons debates, and voting, thereby directly engaging in council activities.

Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun said, "I hope this council experience activity provided a meaningful time for children to cultivate democratic citizenship awareness by directly experiencing democratic decision-making processes and debates," adding, "I will support the students in growing into mature and sound democratic citizens."
