Investigation into Fatal Accident at Mapo Hongdae Entrance Smart Shelter

On December 6th at around 8:30 PM, a person fell at Hongdaeipgu Smart Shelter and died after two weeks of hospitalization... Mapo Police Station sent a letter on the 19th requesting cooperation in investigating the circumstances of the advertising panel construction against Seoul City Bus Policy Division.

At around 8:30 PM on the 6th, an unidentified person fell at the Hongdae Entrance Smart Shelter in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and was in a vegetative state for about two weeks before reportedly passing away on the 19th. The Mapo Police Station has reportedly launched an investigation.

According to the Seoul City Bus Policy Division on the 22nd, the advertising panel (Digital Shiny) inside the Hongdae Entrance (14-016) Smart Shelter was being replaced, and the previous maintenance contractor had removed the advertising panel. It is reported that the victim, unaware that the space was empty, leaned against it and fell, hitting their head on the ground, and was transported to the hospital where they later died.

Accordingly, the Mapo Police Station is investigating the circumstances of the advertising panel construction and the accident. The Seoul City Bus Policy Division, as the responsible department, has received a request for cooperation from the Mapo Police Station.
