Obtained 539 Votes out of 1,194 in the First Direct Election
Kim In, former acting president of the Saemaeul Geumgo Central Association (hereinafter referred to as the Central Association), was elected as the next Central Association president.
The Saemaeul Geumgo Central Association announced on the 21st that Kim, the former acting president, was elected in the 19th Central Association presidential election held at the MG Talent Development Center in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do. Kim received 539 votes out of a total of 1,194 votes cast.
Born in 1952, Kim graduated from Seoul National University College of Education and has served as chairman of Seoul Namdaemun Market Corporation and chairman of Namdaemun Saemaeul Geumgo.
Kim's term as Central Association president will last until March 14, 2026.
This Central Association presidential election was held as the first direct election and was conducted under the supervision of the Central Election Management Committee. The candidates included Kim, the former acting president, Kim Hyun-soo, former director of the Central Association (chairman of Daegu Deo Joeun Geumgo), Lee Soon-soo, former chairman of Anyang Nambu Saemaeul Geumgo, Choi Cheon-man, chairman of Bupyeong Saemaeul Geumgo, Song Ho-seon, CEO of MG Credit Information, Woo Ki-man, chairman of Namwon Saemaeul Geumgo, Lee Hyun-hee, chairman of Bukgyeongju Saemaeul Geumgo, Yong Hwa-sik, chairman of Songjeong Gunja Saemaeul Geumgo, and Kim Kyung-tae, chairman of Woori Yongin Saemaeul Geumgo, totaling nine candidates.
