Imsil-gun to Host 'Santa Festival' at Cheese Theme Park from 23rd to 25th

Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 21st that it will hold the '2023 Imsil Santa Festival' at the Imsil Cheese Theme Park from the 23rd to the 25th.

The Santa Festival, Imsil-gun's representative winter festival promoted as part of Jeollabuk-do's flagship tourism development project, has been held annually since its first event in 2017, attracting numerous tourists nationwide and gaining great popularity.

This year’s Santa Festival is also richly prepared with various programs and gift events in different zones, along with a beautiful Christmas atmosphere.

Especially this year, for the first time, a romantic atmosphere will be created by producing a White Christmas using artificial snow, and a snow duck-making experience using the accumulated snow will also be operated.

Starting with the opening ceremony on the 23rd, a variety of attractions and activities such as performances, experiences, food, and scenic decorations will be provided, offering much enjoyment and memorable moments for families and couples.

On the main special stage, various performances including orchestral music, traditional Korean music (gugak), and pop opera will be held, and a large tree displayed at the fountain plaza along with three daily Santa parades will take place.

Additionally, the Imsil Santa Cafe will operate, where visitors can enjoy unique Christmas stories from around the world and a variety of distinctive drinks.

Many Santas will be scattered throughout the festival site, and various gift events through games and activities are also prepared.

Moreover, various hands-on experiences such as family tree making, wood-fired pizza making, and roasting chestnuts, as well as fun activities like cheese curling and Santa sledding, will be available. Food offerings will be abundant, including the recently launched Imsil N Cheese Bungeoppang, a specialty of Imsil-gun.

County Governor Shim Min said, “We have prepared a variety of attractions, sights, food, and gifts to give happy Christmas memories. We hope that during the holiday period, families, friends, and couples will come to Imsil Cheese Theme Park to fully enjoy themselves and experience the charm of Imsil.”

Meanwhile, to enhance convenience for visitors to the Santa Festival, the county plans to operate a shuttle bus between Jeonju and Imsil. The route will circulate between Jeonju Sports Complex, Hanok Village (Lahan Hotel), and Imsil Cheese Theme Park (festival site), starting from the Sports Complex at 10 a.m. and running at one-hour intervals.
