Actor Lee Seon-gyun (48), who is accused of drug use, is being summoned by the police for the third time for investigation. The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Division plans to summon Lee again on the 23rd for questioning on charges related to marijuana and psychotropic substances under the Narcotics Control Act.
Lee is expected to be investigated as a suspect in the drug case after first giving a statement as a victim in a case where he filed a complaint against two people, including A (29, female, detained), a manager at an entertainment establishment, on charges of extortion.
Lee is suspected of having smoked or used marijuana and ketamine multiple times earlier this year at A's residence in Seoul. A, who has six prior convictions including drug use, is also suspected of delivering drugs to Lee that were handed over by B (42, male, detained), a plastic surgeon known to A.
Previously, during two police interrogations, Lee claimed, "A deceived me and gave me the drugs. I did not know they were narcotics." He tested negative for drugs in a preliminary reagent test as well as in a detailed analysis by the National Forensic Service.
After media reports about his alleged drug use surfaced in October, Lee filed a complaint through his lawyer against A and another person, stating, "I was threatened and extorted for 350 million won in connection with this case."
Regarding this, A admitted in police questioning to receiving 300 million won but claimed, "I was threatened via social networking services (SNS) by someone suspicious of my relationship with Lee," and stated, "I do not know who B is."
