Sijibio announced on the 21st that it held a wound care workshop for 15 medical staff working at the Korean Wound Management Society and long-term care hospitals.
This event was organized to help patients who are receiving wound treatment through long-term care hospitals, rehabilitation medical institutions, and home nursing after being discharged from university hospitals to heal quickly and assist in returning to daily life.
At the event, Chairman Hyun-Seok Seo (Professor of Plastic Surgery at Seoul Asan Medical Center) gave theoretical lectures on the topics of "Basics of Wound Treatment" and "Principles of Negative Pressure Therapy." Vice Chairman Kyu-Won Baek (Nursing Headquarters, Samsung Seoul Hospital), Chairman Kyung-Min Kwon (Nursing Headquarters, Samsung Seoul Hospital), and Chairman Min-Kyung Kim (Nursing Headquarters, Samsung Seoul Hospital) demonstrated dressing procedures according to pressure ulcer sites using Sijibio's negative pressure wound therapy device "CuraSYS 2" and negative pressure wound dressing "CuraVAC."
CuraSYS is a negative pressure wound therapy device used together with CuraVAC, a foam-type negative pressure wound dressing. By applying negative pressure to the wound area, it continuously suctions exudate generated from the wound and promotes the formation of capillaries and granulation tissue, thereby improving the healing speed of wounds such as pressure ulcers.
Chairman Young-Jun Jeon emphasized, "Through this workshop, we will form a network and operate continuous education programs so that they can be reflected in actual treatment."
Yoon Mok, Head of the Wound Business Division at Sijibio, said, "In the case of severe pressure ulcers, continuous treatment using negative pressure wound therapy devices is required for a long period of at least six months to one year," adding, "We hope that through this workshop, medical staff working at long-term care hospitals will be educated on effective wound treatment methods using CuraSYS and CuraVAC, which will greatly help patients' rapid recovery."
