KNsol is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by news that 'immersion cooling,' which improves energy efficiency in data centers amid the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, is emerging as a blue ocean market.
As of 9:50 a.m. on the 21st, KNsol is trading at 19,480 won, up 6.22% compared to the previous day.
According to industry sources, as the global data center market grows due to the generative AI boom such as ChatGPT, 'immersion cooling,' which can dramatically improve energy efficiency, is gaining attention. In Korea, large companies such as SK Innovation and GS Caltex are reportedly entering the immersion cooling market one after another.
Immersion cooling is a next-generation thermal management technology that cools data center servers, electronic devices, and batteries by submerging them in a non-conductive liquid that does not conduct electricity. Since heat is transferred directly to the liquid, immersion cooling is evaluated to have superior cooling efficiency compared to 'air cooling,' which circulates cold air, and 'water cooling,' which indirectly cools using water.
According to the global market research firm MarketsandMarkets, the global immersion cooling market size is expected to grow from $244 million (approximately 330 billion won) last year to $1.71 billion (approximately 2.3 trillion won) by 2030.
Meanwhile, KNsol is a specialized immersion cooling solution company that entered the domestic immersion cooling market in cooperation with Submer, a global No. 1 company headquartered in Spain. The immersion cooling system chosen by KNsol is Single phase immersion cooling, which has a slightly lower efficiency (PUE) than Two phase but is economically known for its very low evaporation rate of 1.6 to 1.9 liters per year at 50℃ operation and fewer maintenance points.
