BHSN CEO Lim Jeong-geun: "High-Quality Data Is Essential"

"For AI to become a helpful service rather than just a 'fun toy,' it is essential to clearly define the problem it aims to solve first. Only then can high-quality data be secured."

Lim Jeong-geun, CEO of BHSN, said this during a lecture titled "To Prevent AI from Becoming Just a Fun Toy" at the '2023 Asia AI Awards' held at the Korea Press Center on the 20th.

CEO Lim stated, "Although AI has made significant technological advances since the emergence of ChatGPT, it is still difficult to use it for work. There are many challenges to overcome, such as cost issues," adding, "Securing and training with high-quality data is essential in the process of concretely commercializing large language models (LLM)." He continued, "To secure high-quality data, it is important to accurately identify the problem, that is, the role of AI," and added, "It is necessary to clearly recognize what kind of service is intended and whether suitable data is available."

CEO Lim cited BHSN as an example. BHSN, a third-year startup, has developed and supplies an 'All-in-One Enterprise AI Legal Solution' based on expertise in AI, IT, and law. It is an AI legal solution that integrates contract drafting and review, corporate litigation, and risk management.

He explained, "The legal sector is advantageous for AI training because documents are structured, making it a good field to apply AI," and added, "Most of the data is created by experts, so the training efficiency is high." He continued, "For example, AI can extract, compare, summarize, and generate legal document contents such as contracts, terms and conditions, and legal advice. We organized tens of thousands of pages of litigation materials, and if a new witness appears, there is no need to review the materials from the beginning; AI can summarize and allow you to see only the necessary parts."

CEO Lim also emphasized the need to pay attention to AI ethics in this process. He stated, "Customer data and personal information protection cannot be compromised under any circumstances and must be prioritized," and added, "When providing practical AI services, caution must be taken to avoid arbitrary use of data without the customer's explicit consent and infringement of personal information. Transparent data and training process management, as well as strict compliance with current laws, must also accompany this."
