Pulmuone Launches 'Artisan' Pasta and Sauce... "Authentic Italian Pasta Experience"

Joint Development with Global Pasta Brand Barilla

Pulmuone Foods announced on the 20th the launch of four types of pasta (spaghetti, linguine, fusilli, whole wheat spaghetti) and four types of sauces (pomodoro, arrabbiata, mushroom cream, carbonara) under the sub-brand ‘Artisan,’ jointly developed with the Italian pasta brand Barilla.

This new product reflects the consumption trend of enjoying food as desired, tailored to the preferences of single-person households. It is designed for single-serving cooking, containing only the necessary amount at once, eliminating the biggest concern for consumers when cooking pasta?measuring a single serving. Additionally, recipe research and development were conducted by collecting customer feedback through ‘AIRS,’ an AI customer experience analysis system first introduced in the food industry. Through this process, they succeeded in creating flavors that captivate Korean tastes without straying from authentic Italian pasta traditions.


‘Artisan Ready Pasta Noodles’ are dried pasta products boasting high-quality ingredients and the best texture. They are offered in four types most preferred by Koreans: spaghetti, linguine, fusilli, and whole wheat spaghetti. The highest-grade durum wheat, strictly managed and cultivated at over 10,000 farms contracted long-term with Barilla, is used, and expert know-how is applied to achieve the optimal ‘Al dente’ texture. Notably, the ‘one-pan cooking’ method, which completes cooking in just 1 minute and 30 seconds together with the sauce without the need to boil the noodles separately, is a key advantage.


‘Artisan Pasta Sauce’ is a refrigerated sauce product that captures freshness by utilizing authentic Italian recipes to bring out the natural flavors of the raw ingredients. It is available in four types: pomodoro, arrabbiata, mushroom cream, and carbonara. ‘Pomodoro’ adds the fragrant aroma of basil to fresh 100% Italian crushed tomatoes; ‘Arrabbiata’ enhances deep flavor with crispy bacon and a spicy umami taste with red pepper; ‘Mushroom Cream’ harmonizes the rich aroma of two types of large-cut mushrooms with cream, creating an exquisite blend with the noodles and sauce; ‘Carbonara’ balances rich texture and taste using egg yolks, cheese, and bacon.


A Pulmuone Foods representative said, “We have introduced pasta products that allow consumers to easily and conveniently enjoy authentic Italian pasta, which was previously only tasted at specialty restaurants, at home. We plan to continue offering convenient pasta meals using various types of noodles and sauces, such as lasagna, through the Artisan brand.”
