Daejeon City has joined hands with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and Daejeon Urban Corporation to successfully establish the Nano·Semiconductor National Industrial Complex.
On the 18th, Daejeon City announced that it signed a basic agreement with LH and Daejeon Urban Corporation for the establishment of the Nano·Semiconductor National Industrial Complex.
According to the agreement, Daejeon City will take the lead in administrative support necessary for attracting tenant companies, resolving civil complaints, and infrastructure, while LH and Daejeon Urban Corporation will be responsible for conducting preliminary feasibility studies, administrative procedures such as industrial complex plan approval, and construction work for the industrial complex.
Daejeon City plans to designate the Nano·Semiconductor National Industrial Complex as the second Daedeok Research Special Zone and develop it into a production base that commercializes research outcomes by utilizing Daejeon's strong research resources.
Despite having world-class research and development (R&D) infrastructure, Daejeon has faced a vicious cycle where excellent companies and talents that grew in the region leave for other areas due to a shortage of industrial land.
To overcome this situation, Daejeon City has been fully committed to creating an ‘Industrial Complex + α’.
Daejeon City plans to apply for a preliminary feasibility study for the establishment of the Nano·Semiconductor National Industrial Complex in the first half of next year, complete the industrial complex plan by 2027, and finish construction by 2030.
