Na Kyung-won: "Party-Government Relations Must Change Before Forming Emergency Committee"

Attendance of Wonoe Party Branch Chairpersons at the Book Concert on the 14th

Former People Power Party lawmaker Na Kyung-won stated on the 14th that "a change in the party-government relationship must be a prerequisite for forming an emergency response committee or establishing the party's leadership system effectively," in response to the party's transition to an emergency response committee system.

After attending a joint book concert of non-incumbent party branch chiefs held at a cafe in Sinchon, Seoul, Na told reporters, "There is much debate about the emergency response committee chairperson, and anyone would be fine, but practically, there needs to be a change in the current ruling party's political operating system for the chairperson to be able to function," expressing this view.

Regarding the qualifications for the emergency response committee chairperson, he mentioned, "The speaker should probably be a bit louder," adding, "In short, the chairperson should have a presence."

When asked about being mentioned as a candidate for the emergency response committee chairperson, Na replied, "I have not heard anything special." When asked if he would accept the position if requested by the party, he said, "I don't think that will happen, so there is no need to consider it specially."

Regarding former leader Kim Ki-hyun's resignation and lawmaker Jang Je-won's announcement not to run, he praised them as "potential starting points for the party's change and innovation."

When asked whether additional sacrifice and determination are needed concerning the 'sacrifice' of senior and leadership members proposed by the Innovation Committee, Na emphasized, "The dedication of senior lawmakers is necessary, but the sacrifice of first-term lawmakers is also needed."
