Hwasun-gun Launches Campaign to Halve Traffic Accident Fatalities

Year-End and New Year Driving: Reminder to Follow Traffic Safety Rules Including Prohibition of Drunk and Speeding Driving

On the 13th, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 14th that it conducted a traffic safety promotion campaign at the Goindol Traditional Market in Hwasun-eup to prevent traffic accident fatalities during the year-end and New Year period.


This campaign was carried out in line with Jeollanam-do's 'Minseon 8th Term Traffic Accident Fatalities Reduction by Half Season 2' initiative.


To reduce traffic accident fatalities in the county by 50%, the county promoted various traffic safety rules including ▲ prohibition of speeding and drunk driving ▲ mandatory seatbelt use ▲ prohibition of jaywalking ▲ prohibition of using mobile phones while walking.

The number of traffic accident fatalities in Hwasun-gun this year is 11 (as of November 2).


Due to increased traffic volume following the overcoming of the COVID-19 pandemic, fatalities have sharply increased compared to the previous year.


A county official stated, “There are many traffic hazards due to complex road conditions during year-end and New Year driving,” and urged, “We ask for active participation in traffic safety rules and absolute prohibition of drunk and speeding driving.”
