Incheon Songdo's Last Reclaimed Tidal Flat Section 11-3 Construction Begins... Completion in 2027

The final reclamation work of the shared water surface in Songdo International City has begun.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 14th that it has started reclamation work on the Songdo 11-3 district shared water surface to create an advanced industrial cluster. Once the reclamation of the 11-3 district is completed, the Songdo International City planned by Incheon City will be finalized.

The reclamation area is 1.07㎢, with a total construction cost of 8.4 billion KRW, and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027. Preparations for bringing in external soil for reclamation are currently complete.

The reclamation of the Songdo 11 district shared water surface has been underway since 2011, divided into three districts, with a total area of 6.92㎢ and a total construction cost of 395.4 billion KRW. The 11-1 district was the first to complete reclamation in 2016, and the 11-2 district finished reclamation last October.

An official from the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority stated, "Regarding the 11-3 district reclamation work, we will carefully review the quality, quantity, and schedule of soil from the removal sources and approve and bring in only soil that meets the site requirements. We will do our best to proceed with the reclamation work without delay to supply land for investment attraction and revitalize the Incheon Free Economic Zone."
