An Jaebeom, Chairman of the Daehan Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch, Receives This Year's Korea Management Award

Organized by the Korea Broadcasting Newspaper Association, 'Senior Welfare and Community Contribution' Sector

Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 14th that An Jaebeom, chairman of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch, received the Grand Prize in the Senior Welfare and Community Contribution category at the ‘2023 Korea Management Awards’ hosted by the Korea Broadcasting Newspaper Association.

In this award, Chairman An Jaebeom was highly praised for his outstanding leadership and expertise in leading regional development in his field and for his dedicated implementation of the senior respect ideology. He received the award upon recommendation from the President of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Central Committee.

The Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch has been promoting various senior welfare projects such as operating senior colleges, creating enjoyable community centers for seniors, supporting the Happy Teacher program at community centers, providing leadership capacity-building education for community center leaders, and hosting senior gateball tournaments. As a result, in 2023, the branch received a commendation from the Governor of Gyeongbuk Province for contributions to senior welfare development and won an excellence award in the community center revitalization project evaluation.

Governor Oh Dochang expressed his congratulations, saying, “I sincerely thank Chairman An for his efforts to improve the welfare and status of our senior citizens.”

Chairman An Jaebeom took office as the chairman of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yeongyang-gun Branch in December 2020 (a four-year term) and served as a member of the Yeongyang-gun Council during its 3rd and 4th terms.
