The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has been selected as a ‘Community Contribution Recognized Institution’ by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare. This marks the third consecutive year since 2021 that the organization has been selected, and notably, this year it advanced by one level to Level 4 compared to last year.
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization received high scores in environmental management and transparent management in the ESG management evaluation, which consists of eight categories.
This year, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization carried out eco-friendly social contribution activities such as ‘Gyeonggi Sea Together 海’ and the ‘Gyeonggi-do Solid Road Campaign,’ supported train trips for families with developmental disabilities within the province, and participated in mural volunteer work at elementary schools in the province.
Jo Won-yong, President of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, stated, "We will continue to thoughtfully consider social contribution activities that are genuinely needed in the community and discover and implement activities suited to the characteristics of the organization. We will do our best to lead the way in spreading more social opportunities and values and to advance to the highest level, Level 5."
Meanwhile, the ‘Community Contribution Recognition System’ is a program that identifies and acknowledges companies and institutions that have consistently engaged in community contribution activities through partnerships with non-profit organizations.
The evaluation for the Community Contribution Recognition System is conducted based on the ‘Community Contribution Recognition System Indicator Development’ by the Korea Standards Association and is carried out by the Regional Recognition Review Committee and the Final Recognition Review Committee.
