Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 14th that it received the Grand Prize in the "2023 Childcare Policy Excellent Local Government Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Every year, the Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluates childcare policies nationwide based on indicators such as improving childcare teachers' treatment, budget execution and management, quality control of daycare centers, safety management, and expansion of public childcare.
This year, a total of 23 local governments were selected as excellent local governments through the first evaluation conducted by the city/province and the second review by the Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluation committee.
Following the Grand Prize in 2020, the Excellence Award in 2021, and the Grand Prize in 2022, Gwangsan-gu achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Grand Prize again this year, confirming its status as the top city for childcare policy nationwide.
The district received high evaluations for ▲10 projects to improve the treatment of childcare staff ▲prompt execution of childcare budgets ▲expansion of 9 national and public daycare centers and establishment of 1 integrated daycare center for children with disabilities ▲safety inspections of 204 daycare centers and safety education for 798 childcare staff members.
