The three major indices of the U.S. New York stock market all closed higher on the 12th (local time) as the Federal Reserve (Fed) kept the benchmark interest rate unchanged as expected and hinted at the possibility of three rate cuts next year through the new dot plot.
On this day at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.4% from the previous close. The S&P 500, centered on large-cap stocks, increased by 1.37%, and the Nasdaq, focused on technology stocks, closed up 1.38%.
