Tracking Missing Person's Movement Route Through CCTV

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 13th that it has recently established an 'AI CCTV-based rapid missing person search system' and has begun pilot operation. Full-scale operation will start next month.

When a missing person's photo and physical description information are entered into this system, it analyzes CCTV footage to find similar images. At the same time, the movement path of the missing person is identified through the CCTV where they were recognized, enabling faster securing of the golden time (initial response time).

This system can also be directly used by the police through the 'Smart City Safety Network Service.' The police can utilize the video analysis information from the district office's CCTV online without visiting the district control center, aiding in missing person investigations. When children or dementia patients go missing, the probability of finding them significantly decreases after the 3 to 24-hour golden time.

Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "We expect the newly established rapid search system to be widely used to quickly find missing persons, and we will continue to promote projects to enhance residents' safety using CCTV."
