The 5th Ulleung-gun Governor's Cup Badminton Tournament Held

The "5th Ulleung County Governor's Cup Badminton Tournament" was held on the 9th at the Ulleung Student Gymnasium, hosted by the Ulleung County Sports Council, organized by the Ulleung County Badminton Association, and sponsored by Ulleung County.

This tournament featured not only badminton enthusiasts from Ulleung County but also players from Cheongdo County, who showcased their honed skills in intense matches.

In particular, a team of about 20 members from the Cheongdo 5070 Badminton Association participated, boosting the tournament's excitement and fostering exchanges between the two local governments.

At the opening ceremony, agricultural products from Cheongdo, including minari (water dropwort) and dried persimmon slices, as well as prizes such as rice and sweet potatoes, were distributed to the participants through a lucky draw, providing enjoyment before the matches.

The tournament was held in men's doubles (C level, beginner), women's doubles, mixed doubles, and student divisions. The men's doubles C level champions were the team of Lim Gyeongmin and Lee Heejun; the men's doubles beginner champions were Lee Sangyun and Park Chanhee; the women's doubles champions were Lee Seowon and Jeong Yeongrok; the mixed doubles champions were Kim Youngnam and Son Jeongnam; and the student division champions were Park Junho and Hong Sanghyeon.

County Governor Nam Han-kwon expressed gratitude to the Cheongdo badminton club for visiting the county and said, "I hope that not only the friendship among local club members but also sports exchanges between local governments will be revitalized."
