A large number of electric heating devices and winter protection products commonly used in winter have been ordered to be recalled. It was raised that the surface temperature exceeds the standard, posing a risk of burns with prolonged use. Children's products containing harmful substances such as lead and cadmium exceeding the standard were also ordered to be collected.

The National Institute of Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 12th that it conducted a safety investigation on 65 items and 1,018 products of electric and household goods and children's products, including electric heating pads, electric warmers, and winter protection products that are in high demand during winter, and issued recall orders for 45 products that did not meet safety standards.

Sharp Energy's electric stove was found to be non-compliant in electric shock protection, and electric mats and electric blankets from Hanil Joeun Jari Co., Ltd., as well as heating sheets from JJ Korea, were investigated as non-compliant due to temperature rise. Children's products include infant textile products (1 item) and toys (7 items) exceeding lead, cadmium, and other standards, as well as a stroller (1 item) that failed durability standards. Bedding sets from Aron Sangsa were found to contain lead at 4.7 times the standard. Harmful substances exceeding the standards were detected in children's products from Yuarim, Muhan Co., Daeyoung, Camel Korea, Sam Global, Your Chairs, Lifaco Co., Ltd., Kkomengi Factory, and CK Sales Co., Ltd., resulting in non-compliance judgments.

To block the distribution of the 45 recalled products in the market, the National Institute of Technology and Standards has disclosed product information on the Product Safety Information Center and Consumer24, and registered them in the hazardous product sales blocking system linked to about 240,000 distribution stores and online shopping malls nationwide. Jin Jong-wook, Director of the National Institute of Technology and Standards, urged, "To have a safe and warm winter, please make sure to check whether the heating products have the KC certification mark when purchasing, and follow safety rules such as turning off the power when not in use."
