Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that on the 16th at 5 PM, the 'Songpa-gu Municipal Theater Troupe' will hold its inaugural performance titled 'Who Are You and Who Am I' at the Songpa-gu Community Center Grand Hall.

The 'Songpa-gu Municipal Theater Troupe' is a community participatory troupe formed by passionate and talented residents, officially established on August 30. The troupe consists of 24 members from diverse backgrounds, including high school students, teachers, housewives, office workers, and senior models, who have undergone a four-month rehearsal journey twice a week and will present their inaugural performance to the residents on the 16th.

Artistic Director Kim Jeong-han, leading the troupe, stated, "Most of the members are new to theater. While not professional experts, they have devoted themselves to rehearsals with a united passion for the stage, completing a wonderful production. Their passionate effort and dedication will shine on stage," expressing confidence in delivering the audience the most sincere and moving experience.

The selected play for the inaugural performance is a heartwarming family story adapted from 'Threshold of Life' (written by Park Soo-kyung), suitable for the whole family to enjoy together. Set against the backdrop of a rural brewery, it vividly portrays a family where the head of the household, 'Young-tae,' and his wife 'Jeong-mi' make Makgeolli and live harmoniously with their children.

The youngest member, 16-year-old student Gu Si-yoon, shared, "The play deals with family stories, and throughout the rehearsal period, the members participated harmoniously and cheerfully like a family. Especially, this play carries a really good message, so I hope the audience will feel the happiness of ordinary daily life and the preciousness of family while watching the performance."

The performance is suitable for audiences aged 8 and above, and advance reservations can be made through Naver until the 14th. Admission is free for all seats.

Going forward, the district plans to support the operation of the 'Songpa-gu Municipal Theater Troupe' to provide opportunities for artistic activities to local residents and contribute to the development of culture and arts within the community.

Additionally, since this year, the district has been hosting high-quality cultural performances such as the Daehangno play 'Bujangdeul' and the opera 'Carmen' once a month at the Songpa-gu Community Center, while also working on expanding the cultural and artistic base and infrastructure, including plans to remodel the Songpa-gu Community Center.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "Through the 'Songpa-gu Municipal Theater Troupe,' I hope everyone can enjoy and experience theater performances that were previously hard to access without any burden," adding, "In the future, Songpa-gu will revitalize residents' lives with various performances and programs and enrich the city through the power of culture and arts."
