Average Annual Salary 105 Million Won... Hyundai Motor to Hire 400 for 'Kingsan-jik' Positions

Average Annual Salary of 100 Million KRW · Mandatory Retirement Age of 60 Guaranteed
Scheduled to Start Working from June to July Next Year

Hyundai Motor Company is set to hire 400 technical (production) workers after a year.

According to industry sources on the 11th, Hyundai Motor plans to announce the production worker recruitment on the 18th. This decision follows an agreement reached in this year's labor-management negotiations to replenish new personnel due to a large number of retirements.

The application deadline for this recruitment is the 28th, and the process will proceed in order with aptitude tests and interviews early next year. The recruitment scale is about 400 people, and successful candidates are expected to start working as early as June next year at the Ulsan plant, Namyang Research Center, and other locations.

Hyundai Motor's technical positions are popular workplaces known as "Kingsanjik (King + production job)" due to their high salaries and excellent welfare benefits. The average annual salary was 105 million KRW last year, with a guaranteed retirement age of 60. Even after retirement, employees can continue working as contract workers. While employed, workers can purchase Hyundai vehicles at up to 30% discount, and after retirement (for those with over 25 years of long-term service), they receive lifelong vehicle discounts of up to 25%.

Among job seekers, it is expected that about 200,000 applicants will apply for this recruitment. Last year, when Kia hired about 100 production workers, 49,432 people applied, resulting in a competition rate of 500 to 1.

Kia is currently conducting a recruitment process for 300 production workers.
