This competition featured two themes reflecting the demands of the Gijang-gun Tourism Promotion Division: ▲ Ways to spread lifestyle tourism in Gijang-gun ▲ Ideas for local tourism content in Gijang-gun.
Over 30 participants, including those from Dongseo University, conducted on-site surveys on the first day of the ideathon, the 7th, and prepared deliverables for idea generation, presentation, and evaluation. Afterwards, they received mentoring from Ban Ji-han, an official from the Gijang-gun Tourism Promotion Division, and local tourism industry experts to refine their ideas and produce final deliverables.
The evaluation and awards ceremony took place on the 8th at H AVENUE Hotel Gijang Ilgwang Branch. To actively utilize the students’ excellent ideas, officials from related local organizations such as Gijang-gun Office, Busan Tourism Organization, and Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation participated in the evaluation.
Dongseo University’s Post-it Team (Tourism Management and Convention Department students Kim Do-hye, Kang Ye-jin, Lee Yeon-kyung, Park Seo-jun) proposed an idea to revitalize local tourism by rebranding Mundong Village and the Slow Mailbox in Gijang-gun, turning them into a single notepad that serves as a communication channel to connect regions and attract people to Gijang-gun, winning the grand prize.
Hwang Gi-hyun, director of Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group and Shared Collaboration Center, said, “We hope that the excellent ideas from the ideathon for revitalizing tourism in the Dongbusan area, a regular event of the LINC 3.0 AI·Smart Tourism ICC Council, will be reflected in policies to activate the local tourism industry.”
