Over 900 Lee and Tongjang Attend Training to Develop Active Core Leaders
Building Pohang as a Hub City of the East Sea... Emphasizing the Role of Local Leaders
On the 11th, Pohang City conducted the ‘2023 E-Tongjang Job Competency Development and Local Civil Defense Captain Training’ for about 900 E-Tongjangs at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Cultural Center Auditorium to cultivate active core local leaders.
Increasing Understanding of Municipal Administration! Pohang City Conducted Job Competency Development Training for Community Leaders and Neighborhood Representatives.
This training was organized to enhance the understanding of city administration and support smooth job performance for E-Tongjangs, who assist civil administration close to the citizens, and to improve their job competencies.
The training began with a performance on the establishment of the POSTECH research-oriented medical school, which is the top concern of local residents, followed by an explanation on the ‘Pohang-triggered earthquake damage compensation lawsuit’ by lawyer Geum Tae-hwan, and concluded with ‘Local Civil Defense Captain Training’ by Son Jong-seon, an administrative officer of the Marine 1st Division.
Kim Seon-ja, president of the E-Tongjang Association, said, “I am glad that all E-Tongjangs gathered in one place to have an opportunity to enhance their job competencies,” adding, “It was a meaningful time to reflect once again on the role and responsibility of E-Tongjangs as local leaders.”
Mayor Lee Kang-deok expressed, “I am always grateful to the E-Tongjangs who devotedly serve citizens on the front lines of administration,” and urged, “Please continue to play an important bridging role between residents and administration.”
