Former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon has been continuously criticizing the current Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung's system and mentioning the possibility of a new party, while Democratic Party lawmaker Oh Ki-hyung raised his voice, urging former leader Lee to serve quietly in the background.
On the 11th, Oh said on his social media, "It is difficult to understand former leader Lee's new party theory."
He added, "Recently, articles about former leader Lee have been continuing, and reports mentioning the possibility of a new party are also ongoing. I have great concerns about this phenomenon," and said, "As someone who served as the leader of the Democratic Party, I expect him to quietly help strengthen and expand the party, but I am worried that he might instead become a focal point of division and conflict within the party."
He continued, "Several lawmakers, including Lee Tan-hee, are advocating for a mixed-member proportional representation system as a political reform, but former leader Lee's new party theory might be making even sincere discussions about the electoral system difficult," and said, "Now is the time to help by observing internal party discussions quietly, like serving in white clothes (백의종군)."
