Signing of Legal Advisory Service Agreement
On the 8th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Social Workers Association and Hamji Law Office (CEO Kim Panmuk).
This MOU was promoted to establish a "one-stop legal advisory service accompanying social workers" to ensure the safety and improve the rights of social worker members. The agreement on legal consultation and mutual cooperation provides systematic free legal advice to social workers in Gumi City.
Kang Namgyu, president of the Social Workers Association, expressed gratitude for the generous support from Hamji Law Office for the association members contributing to the welfare development of Gumi City on the front lines of welfare sites, and stated that efforts will continue to create opportunities to support social workers.
Kang Myeongcheon, director of the Welfare Policy Division, said, "Gumi City will start supporting customized welfare points this year to improve the treatment of social workers, and plans to additionally support an accident insurance project next year. We will prepare various support measures for social workers."
The Gumi City Social Workers Association has been active since 2011 with 730 members holding social worker certificates. It plays a pivotal role in the development of social workers in Gumi City through community exchange cooperation projects, capacity-building education for social workers, and club activities.
