Kim Kwang-yeol, Yeongdeok County Governor, participating in the Yeongdeok apple promotion and sales event in Suwon.
At the event, Son Deok-su, chairman of the Yeongdeok County Council, local Nonghyup cooperative heads, and members of the Jaegyeong Yeongdeok County Hometown Association also attended.
On that day, Governor Kim took the microphone himself at the special store event to promote the excellence of Yeongdeok apples and conducted a tasting event, leading the promotion efforts.
The Yeongdeok Apple promotion and sales event was held over four days from the 7th to the 10th, and especially this year, small packages for 4 to 6 apples and 2.5 kg boxes were introduced instead of selling apples in 5 kg boxes, receiving positive responses from consumers.
Governor Kim Kwang-yeol stated, "The quality of Yeongdeok apples is as excellent as Yeongdeok snow crabs," and added, "Please trust me and try the taste once."
He continued, "Through continuous promotion and quality control, we will do our best to secure a nationwide sales network so that Yeongdeok apples can gain nationwide recognition and competitiveness."
The Yeongdeok region has an average annual sunshine duration of 2,550 hours, which is about 350 hours longer than the national average of 2,202 hours, and has low rainfall, providing ideal climatic conditions for apple cultivation. In particular, the mild spring climate results in less damage from cold and frost, and the longer growing period leads to apples with higher sugar content and vivid color.
