Local Culture Content Fair in Gyeongbuk from 13th to 15th, 2023
Preliminary Project for Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 'Korea Cultural City Designation Contest'
From the 13th to the 15th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk, sponsored by ‘Wonik Q&C’ (CEO Baek Hong-ju), will hold the ‘2023 Gyeongbuk Local Cultural Contents Fair’ together with the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation (CEO Koo Yoon-chul), the Cultural City Support Center, and the Living Arts Contents Research Institute Prism (CEO Yoo Shin-ae) to introduce and exchange the activities of cultural personnel in the Gyeongbuk region.
For this fair, the city recruited a total of 30 teams from the Gyeongbuk area between the 15th and 29th of last month, including cultural planners, artists, and local creators who wished to exhibit in their respective fields. From the 13th for three days, they will introduce their activities at the Gumi Video Media Center (Cultural Planners Showcase, Planner’s Room), Dream Cube (Artists’ Room), and Gaksan 1978 (Local Product Collection).
On the 13th, the cultural planners’ field will present ‘Today, How Are You?’, on the 14th, the artists’ field will present ‘Living by Art Today as Well’, and on the 15th, the local creators’ field will present ‘Hello, Local!’ with symposiums and networking held at the Gumi Video Media Center Media Lounge.
For the three-day fair, cultural activists and artists active nationwide, including Kang Seung-jin, Director of Chuncheon Cultural City Center, Oh Se-gon, Honorary Professor at Soonchunhyang University, and Ryu Seong-hyo, independent cultural planner, will gather to share diverse experiences.

Gumi City is currently competing in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s ‘Korea Cultural City Designation Contest’ and is awaiting the final evaluation on the 18th. This fair is a preliminary project for the Korea Cultural City, and the Geumridan-gil area where the fair is held is expected to be reborn as a base for training metropolitan cultural personnel and producing contents through the cultural city designation.
