Kim Hee-su, Jindo County Governor, Receives Honam Voters' Union Best Local Government Head Award

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that County Governor Kim Hee-su was honored with the '2023 Honam Voters' Union Best Local Government Head Award.'

Celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year, the Honam Voters' Union (Jeollanam-do, Jeonbuk, Gwangju) selects and commends members of the National Assembly, local government heads, metropolitan and basic council members, and organizations that have contributed to regional development and welfare enhancement through outstanding administrative leadership over the year.

At the Honam Voters' Union 2023 Awards Ceremony and Year-end Party, County Governor Kim Hee-su, who received the Best Local Government Head Award, is promoting dynamic and constructive county administration to create a "Jindo where residents are the owners and a good place to live."

Since the launch of the 8th elected term, more than 30% of the total budget has been allocated to agriculture and fisheries projects to foster Jindo-gun's key industries. Remarkable achievements have been made in stabilizing agricultural management, promoting high value-added agriculture, strategic development of representative marine products, securing distribution networks with large retailers, and pioneering overseas markets.

Additionally, to create a "Jindo where flowers bloom 365 days," a clean and beautiful regional image has been established by creating 20 km of flower roads and 30 hectares of flower complexes.

In particular, to supplement the county's insufficient finances, active participation in public contest projects has resulted in securing 68 projects with a total budget of 114 billion KRW as of the end of November, the largest scale ever, which is about 70 billion KRW more than the five-year average.

Governor Kim Hee-su said, "I am honored to receive the Honam Voters' Union Best Local Government Head Award," and added, "In 2024, based on this year's many achievements, we will create a beautiful and healthy future innovation Jindo."
