"Ruling Party Crowds Bundang, General Election Difficult? Fierce Competition Is a Good Sign"

Former Civil Society Secretary Kang Seung-gyu KBS Radio Interview
"Orderly Competition Could Be a Winning Point in the General Election"

Regarding Hong Jun-pyo, Mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City, criticizing the candidacy competition of ruling party figures in Bundang, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, former Presidential Office Senior Secretary for Civil Society Kang Seung-gyu stated, "If there is noise, competition, and intensity, I see it as a clear good sign."

Former Secretary Kang appeared on the special KBS 1 Radio program "Today" on the 11th and said, "If such competition is managed in an orderly manner by the Public Office Committee, it could also act as a winning point in the general election."

He emphasized, "In general elections, everyone chooses the best region with their own brand to compete. Elections are not about swords and guns but about competing through the electoral system and voting to win the hearts of the region or its voters. Competition is the best weapon."

Regarding the People Power Party Innovation Committee, he said, "If the Innovation Committee, led by Chairman In Yo-han and others, demands very aggressive and unrestrained changes, it will require a very orderly and systematic approach to harmoniously adapt and lead change within the current system."

He added, "I think the key to the Innovation Committee's success lies in whether Representative Kim Ki-hyun can lead the unrestrained changes of Chairman In and others into orderly changes."

Regarding the People Power Party Secretariat's general election status report, which shows dominance in only 6 out of 49 constituencies in Seoul, he said, "It is important to have a sense of crisis," but also added, "Rather than being swayed by various trends in public opinion, I think it is truly important to approach the public sincerely with a big-picture perspective."
