The Discrimination-Free Workplace Support Group project is conducted by the Korea Labor Foundation to prevent and improve unreasonable discrimination in employment against non-regular workers, aiming to create a fair workplace by guaranteeing equal opportunities to vulnerable workers.

Parnas Hotel, which employs more than 2,500 staff, began active institutional improvements to create a discrimination-free and fair workplace starting with consulting from the Korea Labor Foundation last year. Following the consulting, Parnas Hotel expanded welfare and salary support items, including medical expense support, to the level of regular employees for interns among directly employed contract workers, and also broadened the scope of condolence money and condolence leave.

As part of improving in-house welfare and work environment, Parnas Hotel recently established an employee-only lounge accessible to all executives and staff and improved office working conditions. Additionally, through a complete renewal of employee workspaces and offices, the efficiency and convenience of office space were enhanced. Phone booths that allow undisturbed work calls and video meetings were installed in the office, and office facilities and equipment were upgraded to top-tier standards to increase employee satisfaction.

Furthermore, Parnas Hotel is actively investing in strengthening employees’ work capabilities by conducting extensive domestic and international benchmarking programs by department to broaden employees’ horizons and cultivate job expertise. They have also introduced the ‘IHG Exchange’ program, where employees gain practical experience at InterContinental hotels worldwide to grow as global hoteliers.

A representative of Parnas Hotel stated, “We are doing our best to create a workplace environment where employees can work most efficiently,” and added, “We plan to continuously enhance welfare benefits so that all employees can take pride in their work and focus on their duties, going beyond just a discrimination-free workplace.”
