Leaked Photos of Top, Bottom, and Sides on Taiwanese IT Media
Foreign Media Confirm "Galaxy S24 Ultra Real Device"
Samsung Electronics is facing a security alert ahead of the highly anticipated launch of the Galaxy S24 next month. Photos of the actual product have been leaked once again.
Recently, Taiwanese IT media sogi.com released photos comparing the top, bottom, and sides of the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra models. Although the original images have all been deleted, the real photos have already spread through foreign media and other channels.
Leaker David Martin (@DavidMa05368498) shared the photos, describing it as the “new Galaxy S24 Ultra without a curved screen.” Leading overseas IT media outlets have also confirmed that the photos show the actual appearance of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Samsung Electronics plans to unveil the Galaxy S24 in California, USA, on January 17 next year, moving up the release date compared to previous years. With its position as the “world’s number one smartphone” being threatened, it appears Samsung is accelerating the launch to shake the dominance of Apple’s iPhone 15 right in its backyard.
The leaked photos reveal that the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s speaker has been changed to a strip design. Additionally, the bottom of the S Pen appears to be flatter than in previous models. The side design, where the power and volume buttons are located, looks almost identical, and the external design seems very similar to its predecessor. However, the weight will be lighter as it adopts titanium material, which Apple also applied to the iPhone 15 this year.
The camera is expected to be upgraded. The 200-megapixel main camera first introduced on the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera will remain, but the 3x zoom telephoto camera’s resolution is expected to increase fivefold from the previous 10 megapixels to 50 megapixels. Samsung’s self-developed generative artificial intelligence (AI) will also be incorporated for the first time.
The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be released in three models?Basic, Plus, and Ultra?similar to the previous generation, with prices anticipated to be at a similar level. The Galaxy S23 series (256GB version) had launch prices of 1,155,000 KRW for the basic model, 1,353,000 KRW for the Plus, and 1,599,400 KRW for the Ultra model.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S23 series, which Samsung Electronics unveiled last February, also faced controversy as most product information was leaked before the launch event. Photos presumed to be promotional images for the domestic market, release schedules, key specifications, and prices were all revealed in advance.
As leaks of new product information have increased, Samsung has repeatedly stated its intention to take a tough stance. The company believes that if all information is leaked beforehand, excitement for the launch event will diminish, potentially harming initial sales performance.
