'Supporters of "Principles and Common Sense" on Talk Show
Warning of Party Formation Possibility for "Lee Jae-myung Leadership"'
The 'Principles and Common Sense' group, a faction of non-Lee Jae-myung (Bi-Lee Jae-myung) members within the Democratic Party of Korea, reiterated on the 10th the possibility of leaving the party and forming a new party. They demanded that the party leadership present concrete measures by the end of this month to restore intra-party democracy.
Lee Won-wook (3-term), Kim Jong-min, Cho Eung-cheon (2-term), and Yoon Young-chan (1-term), members of 'Principles and Common Sense,' announced this during a talk show-style meeting with supporters at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in the afternoon.
Kim said, "There is no plan for a new party yet. If the Democratic Party changes, that will become the new party," but added, "I will do my best for that until the end of the year, and if it doesn't work out, I will consult with you then." He continued, "Please support our best efforts for innovation and reform of the Democratic Party until December," and added, "No matter what choice we make afterward, please stay with us unwaveringly."
He said, "We want to discuss this before entering the playing field ahead of next year's general election," and added, "We will wait to see what changes occur from that pressure, and if none happen, we will take our own path."

Yoon also said, "Until December is the time to protect and change the Democratic Party," and added, "What we will do afterward will come about when our hearts meet."
In response to the question, "What is the most necessary common sense for the Democratic Party?" he directly criticized Representative Lee Jae-myung, saying, "Regarding the election law and other matters, if he said he would give up immunity from arrest, shouldn't he have kept that promise?" He further criticized, "Why make promises to the people? If the situation changes and you don't have to keep them, then you lack the qualifications of a public party."
Earlier, when launching their group on the 16th of last month, they demanded that the party leadership prepare three measures by December: ▲ restoration of morality ▲ restoration of intra-party democracy ▲ restoration of visionary politics.
However, Representative Cho kept a relatively distant stance on the new party formation theory. He said, "Realistically, it is easier and more proper to fix and properly build either the Democratic Party or the People Power Party," adding, "Giving that up and taking another path is a very roundabout way." He also said, "Honestly, we are now employing a brinkmanship tactic. Please understand it that way."
Regarding the intense criticism from Lee Jae-myung's hardline supporters toward the non-Lee faction, Representative Cho criticized, "They (the ruling party) are saying, 'They are such idiots and fools, so if only you guys keep quiet, we will win the general election overwhelmingly, so please shut up.'"
On the 10th, at the "Principles and Common Sense" talk show with the people, a non-mainstream group of the Democratic Party of Korea held at the National Assembly, Representatives Cho Eung-cheon, Yoon Young-chan, Lee Won-wook, and Kim Jong-min shouted slogans with the attendees.
