Gwanak-gu Environmental Officers Donate 6.68 Million Won for Neighborly Love
Consistent Acts of Kindness Continued for 9 Years Since 2015

The winter in Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is warm today as well, thanks to the practice of neighborly love.

Since November 15, the district has been conducting the public-private cooperation fundraising campaign "2024 Hope Ondol Warm Winter" to support low-income neighbors.

Accordingly, on December 6, environmental public officials from the Seoul Metropolitan Labor Union Gwanak Branch (Branch Chief Lee Sang-moon) donated 6.68 million won, collected bit by bit, as a contribution to the "Hope Ondol Warm Winter" fund.

The "Labor Union Gwanak Branch," consisting of 169 environmental public officials, has been steadily donating funds for nine years since 2015, despite difficult economic conditions such as high inflation and high interest rates, helping to create a happy local community.

An environmental public official who participated in the donation said, "Although it is a small contribution, I hope it can provide some comfort to neighbors who are going through difficulties."

The donated funds will be delivered to neighbors in need through the Community Chest of Korea.

The neighborly love of the Labor Union Gwanak Branch shines in various areas. In addition to creating a pleasant living environment for residents every day, last year they contributed to the rapid recovery of local residents by tirelessly collecting flood waste caused by unprecedented heavy rains day and night.

Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, "I sincerely thank the environmental public officials for their warm hearts in caring for neighbors around us despite these difficult times," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that the precious funds donated are properly delivered to families in need in the community."
