According to the 5·18 Democratic Movement Injured Persons Association and the Gwangju District Court on the 9th, the injunction request filed by Chairman Hwang on the 8th to suspend the disciplinary action and the board resolution against the Injured Persons Association was dismissed.

Chairman Hwang had submitted an injunction request to the court to suspend the disciplinary action after the Injured Persons Association board held a meeting last October and passed a disciplinary measure suspending his qualifications for five years.

At that time, Chairman Hwang argued that since there was no approval from him as chairman for the temporary board meeting, the temporary board itself was illegal, making the disciplinary measure invalid.

The court ruled, "There was insufficient evidence to justify accepting Chairman Hwang's request."

Previously, the Injured Persons Association board passed the disciplinary measure of "five-year suspension of qualifications," citing reasons such as Chairman Hwang placing newspaper advertisements opposing the establishment of the Jeong Yul-seong Historical Park and attending rallies without consulting members of the Injured Persons Association, conspiring with special forces to issue a joint reconciliation declaration without members' consent, thereby damaging the honor of the members.

Following the court's ruling, the Injured Persons Association plans to entrust the chairman's duties to Moon Jong-yeon, the standing vice chairman of the 5·18 Injured Persons Association.

It is reported that Chairman Hwang Il-bong immediately filed an appeal with the court on the 8th to counter the decision.
