Reopening of Garak Market Vegetable Auction from the Evening of January 2, 2024

2024 New Year Holiday Schedule for Garak Market and Others

Seoul Garak-dong Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market and others will be closed for the New Year holiday in 2024.

According to the Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation, among the Garak Market's fresh produce, the vegetable section will hold auctions until the evening of December 29 and will reopen from the evening of January 2, 2024.

The fruit section closed after the morning auction on December 30 this year and will resume auctions in the early morning of January 3, 2024.

Among the Garak Market's seafood section, the fresh fish and shellfish section closed after the morning auction on December 30 this year and will reopen from the evening auction on January 2, 2024.

The dried seafood section held auctions until the morning of December 30 this year and will resume from the early morning auction on January 3, 2024.

Also, the vegetable section of the Gangseo Agricultural Products Wholesale Market (hereafter ‘Gangseo Market’) closed after the evening auction on December 29 this year and will reopen from the evening auction on January 2, 2024.

The fruit section closed after the morning auction on December 30 this year and will resume from the early morning auction on January 3, 2024. In the case of market wholesalers, transactions were conducted until 6 p.m. on December 30 this year and will resume from 6 p.m. on January 2, 2024. The grain wholesale market conducted transactions until 6 p.m. on December 30 this year and will resume from 7 a.m. on January 2, 2024.

Kang Min-gyu, Head of Distribution at the Corporation, stated, “We will do our best to stabilize the supply and demand of agricultural and marine products in cooperation with wholesale market corporations and intermediate wholesalers to ensure smooth supply before and after the New Year holiday.”
