According to the legal community on the 8th, at a trial held under the presiding of Judge Kang Young-gi of the Criminal Division 9 at the Seoul Western District Court, the prosecution requested a one-year prison sentence and an order to complete a stalking treatment program for Bae, a woman in her 40s charged with violating the Stalking Punishment Act.

Bae was absent again at this trial, following her previous absence. The court proceeded with the trial without Bae after she missed two consecutive hearings.

According to the prosecution, from March to October 2021, Bae visited the residence of Rain and Kim Tae-hee 14 times, ringing the doorbell and receiving three warnings for violating the Minor Offenses Act.

However, in February of last year, she is also accused of visiting the victims' residence to knock on the door, and in April, continuing stalking by going to the hair salon used by the victims.

The police dismissed the case, stating that acts committed before the enforcement of the Stalking Punishment Act in October 2021 could not be punished. However, the prosecution demanded the case be sent for trial, arguing that continuity and repetition could be grounds for judgment even before the law was enacted. The sentencing date is set for January 10 next year at 10 a.m.

Earlier, in 2020, Rain’s agency had expressed discomfort by releasing CCTV footage capturing a woman ringing the doorbell at his home.

At that time, the agency stated, "There has been an increase in people visiting Rain’s home to ring the doorbell and shout loudly," adding, "If actions that invade the artist’s privacy and threaten their safety continue, we will take all possible legal measures without leniency."
