Songgwang Majungmul Guarantee Council Delivers Daily Necessities to Vulnerable Groups
Thirteen members of the Majungmulbojang Council in Songgwang-myeon, Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, visited 80 vulnerable households in the area, including low-income families and elderly living alone, to deliver daily necessities and check on their well-being to ensure they have a warm winter.
The event was funded by the distribution money from the Good Citizen Campaign, which Songgwang-myeon residents regularly contribute to help neighbors in need.
In response, Suncheon Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu expressed his gratitude to Lee Seong-hyeong (private sector) and Lee Seon-hwa (ex officio), co-chairs of the Majungmulbojang Council in Songgwang-myeon, and the council members for their proactive efforts in identifying and supporting vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots. In May of this year, during Family Month, they also led the ‘Love Carnation Delivery’ event, exemplifying neighborly love.
Additionally, Lee Seon-hwa, head of Songgwang-myeon, and Oh Eun-soon, head of the welfare team, stated that the public and private sectors will work together to create a happy Songgwang-myeon where everyone lives together without any marginalized neighbors.
