Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 7th that it received an Excellence Award at the "Tuberculosis and Latent Tuberculosis Infection Screening Project Evaluation Contest" hosted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.
This evaluation was organized to discover and share best practices in tuberculosis and latent tuberculosis screening projects across cities, provinces, and districts nationwide.
The district received the Excellence Award, equivalent to the Commissioner of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Award, for its "DO IT YOURSELF" tuberculosis screening project, which was conducted under the slogan "DO IT YOURSELF."
The district implemented strategies to enable elderly residents with high health needs and foreign residents to proactively practice tuberculosis prevention guidelines.
In particular, the district's specialized project, the Goryeoin Village Tuberculosis Screening Project, received high praise for thoroughly supporting the entire process from screening to follow-up management through health needs surveys of the target population, on-site visiting health screenings, and linking activities with infectious disease prevention promotion teams (supporters).
