Gyeonggi Province will fully launch the ‘Eodina Dolbom (Care Anywhere)’ program starting next year, operating disability care programs during nights and holidays, and providing care allowances to families caring for people with severe disabilities.
On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province held the ‘Eodina Warm Spring Talk’ at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, attended by over 100 people including people with disabilities, their guardians, and field experts, where they announced the ‘Eodina Dolbom’ project containing these details.
Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, said, "This year, we created the nation’s first opportunity income for people with disabilities. Although it targeted 2,000 people, over 9,000 applied. Next year, we plan to increase the number of beneficiaries and double the amount, and the related budget proposal has been submitted to the provincial council," promising, "We will strive to create the strongest welfare policy in disability policy."
Eodina Dolbom is the third policy of ‘Gyeonggi 360° Dolbom (Care 360°)’ being promoted by Gyeonggi Province.
Care 360° is Gyeonggi Province’s policy to eliminate blind spots in care, consisting of three parts: ▲‘Nuguna Dolbom (Care for Anyone)’ supporting all residents in crisis regardless of age or income ▲‘Eonjena Dolbom (Care Anytime)’ providing emergency care at any time for families needing child care ▲‘Eodina Dolbom (Care Anywhere)’ offering customized care for people with disabilities at institutions, homes, nights, and weekends.
Eodina Dolbom is a project for people with disabilities who have care needs but have not received sufficient support so far, consisting of operating night and holiday disability care programs, training specialized personnel for severe disabilities and providing customized care, and paying family care allowances for families of people with severe disabilities.
Gyeonggi Province will implement the project fully funded by the provincial budget starting from April next year after establishing a detailed support system.
The operation of night and holiday disability care programs is a project that selects and supports disability welfare centers or designated educational institutions that operate care programs during nights and holidays through a public contest.
The training of specialized personnel for severe disabilities and customized care project trains specialized personnel suited to the characteristics of the disabled person through education and provides care allowances to enable activity supporters or workers at disability facilities and institutions to provide customized care for people with severe developmental disabilities.
The family care allowance payment for people with severe disabilities is a project that compensates families caring for people with severe developmental disabilities who have difficulty using disability welfare institutions by providing family allowances.
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province announced the first care policy ‘Nuguna Dolbom (Care for Anyone)’ on October 18, the second care policy ‘Eonjena Dolbom (Care Anytime)’ on December 6, and the third care policy ‘Eodina Dolbom (Care Anywhere)’ on the 7th as part of the ‘Care 360°’ initiative.
