Hwaseong-si Holds Award Ceremony for Outstanding Public Officials in Active Administration for the Second Half of the Year

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 7th that it held the second half of the year Excellent Public Officials for Proactive Administration Awards Ceremony at the city hall auditorium on the 6th.

At the awards ceremony, six public officials were selected from 15 excellent cases recommended by each department through expert evaluation, online citizen voting, and review by the Proactive Administration Committee.


At the ceremony, Kim Seung-seop, team leader of the Safety Policy Division, who operated the disaster command vehicle linked with drones for the first time among local governments, and Park Mi-hwa, officer of the Child-Friendly Division, who contributed to easing the criteria for multiple children and establishing a mobile app card, received excellence awards.


In addition, the encouragement awards were given to: Joo Jong-hyun, team leader of the Tourism Promotion Division, who contributed to achieving a direct economic effect of 10.8 billion KRW through the first night ferry operation on the West Coast; Choi Hyun-sook, team leader of the Lifelong Learning Division, who contributed to the designation of the 3rd phase of Hwaseong Education Internationalization Special Zone, the only one in Gyeonggi Province, and the enhancement of the education city brand value; Yoo Jin-young, team leader of the Forest Recreation Division, who resolved collective complaints about the installation of connecting passageways in apartment complexes by establishing internal standards; and Choi Chang-min, officer of the Vehicle Registration Office, who contributed to suppressing the distribution of ghost cars through uninsured planned investigations and ex officio cancellations.


The city plans to post the selected excellent cases on the city hall website, social networking services (SNS), YouTube, and in casebooks.


Jung Myung-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "I hope public officials will continue to practice proactive administration by communicating with citizens on site and solving their inconveniences and difficulties."


Meanwhile, Hwaseong City was selected as the best institution again last year at the Gyeonggi Province Proactive Administration Excellent Case Competition held in September.
