The Gwangju China Center announced on the 6th that it conducted the "2023 Gwangju China Culture Week Competition Awardees China Culture Training" for 5 nights and 6 days from the 29th of last month to the 4th.
Invited by the Chinese Consulate General in Gwangju, this training took place in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, and was conducted for about 10 awardees and officials who won major categories in the "Chinese Language and Culture Competition and Chinese Cooking Contest" held during the Gwangju China Culture Week in October.
The training group visited major attractions in Chengdu such as the Chengdu Panda Research Base, Sanxingdui Museum, Qingcheng Mountain, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Chunxi Road, and Dujiangyan, experiencing Chinese culture on site and taking time to understand the history of both countries.
They also visited the Korean Consulate General in Chengdu, where they listened to the main facilities and current operations of the consulate and agreed to jointly promote exchanges in cooking and Taekwondo between Chengdu and Korea in the future.
Yu Chaerin, a third-year student at Dong-A Girls' High School who participated in this training, said, "This training seems to have become a very precious starting point in my life as I aim to enter a Chinese university," and added, "I am deeply grateful to the Chinese Consulate General in Gwangju and the Gwangju China Center for providing such an opportunity."
This training was made possible through a special invitation from the Chinese Consulate General in Gwangju, and all participants were fully supported with round-trip international airfare, accommodation, and all local training stay expenses in China.
